[30 Day Challenge] 30 Favorite Songs

Random Observation/Comment #272: Music, more than anything else, makes me nostalgic. I miss those days on the bus listening to my CD Mix and having it skip everytime we went over bumps.

Why This List?

Music has always played (ha) a big role in my life. I listen to music to set the mood and sometimes just to make me feel like I remember the lyrics to something. I sing it to myself and it’s really hard to be sad when you’re singing a cheerful tune.  Here are my favorite songs that put me in those right moods.

  1. “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” by Israel Kamakawiwo’ole

  2. “The Only Exception” by Paramore

  3. “Happy” by Pharrell Williams  – when I need to feel happy
  4. “Something About Us” by Daft Punk

  5. “Fly Me To the Moon” by Frank Sinatra
  6. “Scar Tissue” by Red Hot Chili Peppers

  7. “Like it Like That” by A Tribe Called Quest

  8. “All the Pretty Girls” by Fun.

  9. “One” by Metallica

  10. “Sugar” by Tonic

  11. “While my Guitar Gently Weeps” by The Beatles

  12. “Talking to the Moon” by Bruno Mars

  13. “Such Great Heights” by The Postal Service

  14. “Hurt” by Johnny Cash

  15. “A Kiss to Build a Dream on” by Louis Armstrong
  16. “Unintended” by Muse
  17. “L.O.V.E.” by Michael Buble
  18. “House of Cards” by Radiohead
  19. “Oxford Comma” by Vampire Weekend
  20. “Too Much Heaven” by Bee Gees
  21. “The Stranger” by Billy Joel
  22. “Misunderstood” by Dream Theater
  23. “Drive by” by Train
  24. “Strangers in the Night” by Frank Sinatra
  25. “Fragrance of Dark Coffee” by Godot  – jazzy feel
  26. “Free Jazz” by Envelopes
  27. “And we Danced” by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis
  28. “The Girl From Ipanema” by Astrud Gilberto – although the Frank Sinatra version is SO badass

  29. “Beautiful Girl” by Flight of the Conchords
  30. “Dead Wrong” by Notorious BIG

This is an unbelievably difficult list to whittle down because I basically have the worst playlist of mixed moods I’ve ever seen. I’d be a terrible DJ.  It also looks like I don’t like any female singers. I’m doubting every song on this list the more and more I read it so I’ll just post it. Stop judging me! Ahhhhh…. this was a terrible idea.
